About me
Hi, I’m Metin.
I'm a London-based jewellery designer and maker. My designs are inspired by the clean lines and geometric structures of architecture, the flowing curves and organic shapes found in nature, and the delicate balance between the two.
The journey into the world of jewellery began during the Introduction to Silversmithing course led by Linda Robertson at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. It was there that I discovered my passion for creating wearable art. Following the course, I started to explore the ancient art of wax carving through self-taught exploration in my studio.
Within the vibrant creative hub of Deptford, London, my studio serves as both a sanctuary and a workshop. Here, I translate my inner world into wearable pieces of art.
My design philosophy centres on the exploration of form and emotion. I aim to capture feelings and abstract concepts, translating them into wearable sculptures that complement the beauty of the human form. I love to emphasize the beautiful contrast between the organic forms of the human body and the structured, sculptural elements of my jewellery. I believe this contrast highlights the wearer's individuality and encourages them to express.
There's something magical about crafting a piece that becomes a part of someone's personal narrative. I love witnessing how bespoke jewellery can tell stories and create lasting memories. I am enthusiastic about collaborations and commission work, and I encourage you to share your ideas with me.
Please feel free to reach out, I would love to hear from you.
Thank you for joining me on this artistic journey!
Lots of love,
Metin
